White Americans have 22 times more wealth than blacks -- a gap that nearly doubled during the Great Recession.
The median household net worth for whites was $110,729 in 2010, versus $4,995 for blacks, according to recently released Census Bureau figures.
The difference is similarly notable when it comes to Hispanics, who had a median household net worth of $7,424. The ratio between white and Hispanic wealth expanded to 15 to 1.
The gap between the races widened considerably during the recent economic downturn, which whites weathered better than blacks, Hispanics and Asians.
[A white man would never be satisfied with a black man controlling the purse strings of himself and his family. So why are we satisfied with white men controlling our purse strings and wielding disproportionate influence over our lives and the lives of our children?
Why are we satisfied having our livelihoods in "their hands"? Haven't they shown time and time again that they can't be trusted to do what's right? Haven't they shown us time and time again that they don't regard our hard work and contributions as worth recognition without being pushed by the Government's hand?
What will happen when the Government stops pushing them to promote us and even hire us? Efforts are underway now in Congress where Republicans are trying to do just that.
Why are we so comfortable working for whites and asking for jobs from whites when they have repeatedly dropped the pay and taken away the benefits when blacks start to disproportionately be hired in positions previously held by whites?]
(Now let's determine exactly "why" white people, in a country that is still majority white (despite the news reports showing they are losing population) are doing so well.
The reasons for this are complex, I'm sure. However, Whites start businesses at a far higher rate than Blacks and Hispanics, they have more wealth (whether individually earned or family gained) to do so. They also have better networks regarding accessing capital, which traditionally has been much more difficult for minorities. White people also disproportionately hire their OWN. They hire whites for the top and middle levels of their corporations at a far higher rate than they would hire a Black or Hispanic minority.
Given this information, minorities still foolishly run to patronize white-owned and controlled businesses when we aren't good enough to sit at the board room table at these very companies. We are not the decision makers. We are not even "amongst" the decision makers. And that is by design.
I know. I have seen white guys with little to no education or experience get hired, turn around three times, and promoted over and over REGARDLESS OF THEIR WORK ETHIC or ABILITY.
This is something my mother would often refer to as the "Overseer Mentality". It's a belief held by many white men, especially Southern White men, that a WHITE MAN is naturally suppose to be in a position of POWER supervising MINORITIES where their primary duties would be watching "US" and making sure "WE" work..
And I have seen this time and time again in my life.
Black people need to learn to circulate the dollar within our own communities "FIRST" before allowing that dollar to leave our community. We need to make sure that if no one will offer us a job, we will at least be able to offer ourselves a job.
We have opportunities in our own communities. So why is it that when I drive around the "black side of town" 90% of the businesses, even the damn tire shops, and black hair care stores, are owned and CONTROLLED by other races?
We need to get out of being ONLY consumers and employEES; and we need to learn to start our own businesses.
We are Children of the SUN.
We were born to SHINE.
Don't let these white folks or those who ascribe to the beliefs of White Supremacy tell you otherwise.
WE WERE BORN TO SHINE.
A white man would NEVER be satisfied with a black man controlling the purse strings. For those who point to President Obama.. Let's remember WHO elected him. He LOST the white vote. Nuff said.
So why is it that blacks around the world are so content on letting Jews, and Whites, control their purse strings. These were the main people who enslaved us for MANY YEARS.
And for those of you who are shocked that I would like those of Jewish Ancestry to the horrible, inhumane, and evil slave trade my response to you is STUDY HISTORY.
And they say "Well, blacks in Africa had slaves".
And I say "STUDY HISTORY"...
Slavery was done worldwide. But Historians agree that the system of slavery instituted and practiced by Europeans, White Americans and Jews was so barbaric, so heinous, that it deserves to be placed entirely in a category of it's own.. Their version of slavery had never been witnessed before. Their version of slavery passed from parent to child, so forth and so on..
Most nations viewed slaves as HUMAN. Europeans, White Americans and Jews, viewed slaves as CHATTEL. NON HUMANS. And we live in a system, in a culture, where the economic system still widely regards these beliefs as factual and true. Where they still practice largely excluding blacks and other minorities, but ESPECIALLY BLACKS, from top paying positions and promotion opportunities AROUND THIS COUNTRY.
They have a problem with a black person being in a position other than the lowest paper pushing position. I witnessed this at Wingspan Portfolio Advisors. But let's be clear. They weren't the ONLY place I witnessed these Jim Crow, Racist, Discriminatory behaviors and mindsets.
I don't and never will advocate "Separatism".
I advocate EQUALITY.
And I understand the ONLY WAY for a black person to achieve that in America and around the world is through taking control of our own financial destinies through the creation of businesses that WE control.
This is a matter of URGENCY.
We will forever be the FOOTSTOOL until we DEMAND A SEAT AT THE TABLE.
