The Black Experience While Working In The South

Speaking for myself.. I prefer a non white employer because from my experiences having managers who were all hues, the non white managers were more straight up and treated me as a black man better than white managers. I never had to worry about a smile today and a termination tomorrow. They were always straight up with me and I appreciated that.

I've seen white people do so much dirty shit to blacks in my past. I've seen questionable terminations, discrimination, overt and subtle racism, double speak and just in general very underhanded and dubious management tactics. The same folks who are cool when you speak to them at company functions, seem to be very cut throat on the job. Always trying to think circles around a person.

Black folks hate people who aren't "GENUINE". Whether they be black or white. Listen to our commentary and we as a people have never stood for people who speak with forked tongues and act with a forked nature. This has been the constant source of conflict within corporate America between blacks and whites. When I was in college, an friend of mine, an African guy whose father was an ambassador to the U.S. once told me that white people would smile in your face today and slit your throat tomorrow. In other words, even this guy who wasn't even from the U.S. noticed the underhanded nature of the white man.

I've seen too many people suffer all sorts of health problems from working for white people. Now I understand why immigrants will work somewhere for a year or two and start their own business. Whether its a business earning them only $25,000 a year they prefer to work for themselves and not for anyone else. There is PEACE in that. There is comfort and security. At the end of the day, whether their business succeeds or fails, they simply don't have to deal with the demonic nature of whites in corporate America.

The duplicitous nature of the white man (and in saying man I mean woman also) is the very reason so many African Americans choose work in "safe" fields where they enjoy some semblance of actual, REAL job security. There is no backroom dealing and no doublespeak. There are no underhanded tactics, no power trips racist white folks get from being over blacks and no sleepless nights from dealing with these devils.

White people have a devilish nature. A demonic nature.

They will always try to out think and outmaneuver those they come into contact with.

This cutthroat, underhanded, devious nature of theirs has made them superb businessmen. The very qualities that would make a person a very poor choice for a "Friend" ironically makes for a "good businessman". They care about nothing but money. What's wrong with simply working with people and letting them be? Why always try to fuck with someone? This is the reason there are so many damn discrimination lawsuits filed. People don't just file these lawsuits and get entangled in the court systems for no reason. Someone, somewhere did SOMETHING.

It's hard now for me to work with these southern white people. I have worked with northerners and its a little better. They are not so tricky with blacks. They seem to be more comfortable with blacks, although there are racists up North too.. It's a difference. You can work without always worrying about their "next move".

Just my opinion...
